March 19, 2015 - Space Weather, Thursday's Top Headlines

Good morning. Here is an updated look at the visible solar disk on Thursday. Solar activity is currently at low levels with only low level C-Flares detected. Regions 2297 and 2302 are both about to turn onto the west limb and will soon be out of Earth view. Region 2303 located in the northeast quadrant is quiet. A small new sunspot formed in the northwest quadrant and should be assigned 2304 later today. No Earth directed coronal mass ejections were detected during the past day. Periods of geomagnetic storming may persist on Thursday as an enhanced solar wind stream continues to flow past Earth.
