Second CME Impact / Moderate Storm in Progress
The anticipated coronal mass ejection (CME) generated by the X1.6 solar flare on September 10th swept past Earth at 15:55 UTC. Solar Wind speeds as measured by the ACE spacecraft increased from 433.2 km/s, to 671.8 km/s. A Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse measuring 43 nT was detected by the ground based magnetometer in Boulder, Colorado. Moderate G2 level geomagnetic storming is now being observed at high latitudes. Strong G3 level storming will remain possible as we head into tonight. More to follow.

UPDATE: Solar wind speeds have picked up considerably and is now nearing 800 km/s. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) was tipped south, but has since turned back north. More fluctuations are to be expected during the next several hours. Visual aurora will be likely across northern Europe and Scandinavia, and if conditions hold our for a few more hours, Canada and the northern tier USA could see some activity as well. On the HAM Radio front, 6 meters (50mhz) is now alive with aurora signals as radio amateurs at higher latitudes point their antennas to the north and make radio contacts via the auroral curtain.

Daily Alternative News Report for September 3, 2014

Good morning. Solar activity during the past 24 hours was low. A number of low level C-Class solar flares are being detected off the southeast limb. Old region 2144 and company are now beginning to turn into view. We will get a better look at the sunspots during the next 24 hours. Region 2152, now transitioning into the southwest quadrant, showed some decay within the central portion of the group. All other visible regions are currently stable. There will be an increasing chance for a moderate solar flare as active regions rotate into view.

Energetic Protons streaming past Earth continue at elevated levels, but fall short of the minor radiation storm threshold. The increased particle levels is a direct result of major flare activity behind the east limb on September 1.

A long duration solar flare peaking at M2.5 was observed at 13:54 UTC Wednesday morning. The source of this eruption is a new active region approaching the southeast limb. A weak coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible in the latest LASCO C2 imagery and as expected due to the limb location, was directed to the east and away from our planet. We will get a better look at the active region during the next several days.

(AA) In June 1936, Max Hahn and his wife Emma were on a walk beside a waterfall near to London, Texas, when they noticed a rock with wood protruding from its core. They decided to take the oddity home and later cracked it open with a hammer and a chisel. What they found within shocked the archaeological and scientific community. Embedded in the rock was what appeared to be some type of ancient man made hammer.

A team of archaeologists analyzed and dated it. The rock encasing the hammer was dated to more than 400 million years old. The hammer itself turned out to be more than 500 million years old. Additionally, a section of the wooden handle had begun the metamorphosis into coal.  The hammer’s head, made of more than 96% iron, is far more pure than anything nature could have achieved without assistance from relatively modern smelting methods.

In 1889 near Nampa, Idaho, whilst workers were boring an artesian well, a small figurine made of baked clay was extracted from a depth of 320 feet. To reach this depth the workers had to cut through fifteen feet of basalt lava and many other strata below that. That in itself does not seem remarkable, until one considers that the very top layer of lava has been dated to at least 15 million years old!

It is currently accepted by science and geology that coal is a by-product of decaying vegetation. The vegetation becomes buried over time and is covered with sediment. That sediment eventually fossilizes and becomes rock. This natural process of coal formation takes up to 400 million years to accomplish.

Anything that is found in lumps of coal or in coal seams during mining, had to have been placed or dropped into the vegetation before it was buried in sediment.

In 1944, as a ten year old boy, Newton Anderson, dropped a lump of coal in his basement and it broke in half as it hit the floor. What he discovered inside defies explanation based upon current scientific orthodoxy.

Inside the coal was a hand crafted brass alloy bell with an iron clapper and sculptured handle.

When an analysis was carried out it was discovered that the bell was made from an unusual mix of metals, different from any known modern alloy production (including copper, zinc, tin, arsenic, iodine, and selenium).

The seam from whence this lump of coal was mined is estimated to be 300,000,000 years old!
